President Yoweri Museveni and the Minister of Education and sport Hon. Janet Museveni on Tuesday hosted the She Cranes, Pearls and Uganda Cranes to a luncheon at the country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhuura district.
They dedicated the who day talking sports with players and sports managers.
President’s Press Secretary Linda Wamboka said that Museveni cancelled all the meetings on his schedule and dedicated his time to the footballers.
Among the guests were French national Sébastien Desabre, 41, the new head coach of the Uganda national football team.
Desabre’s appointment followed a long and tedious sieving process from the over 100 coaches who had applied for the job left vacant after the resignation of forme coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic last July over unpaid wages.
Among other things discussed included how to uplift sports standards in the country since it’s considered an area that has been largely marginalised by government with less funding.
