Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) under the ruling National Resistance Movement and a Senior Presidential Advisor, is facing growing public scrutiny after reportedly unveiling a brand-new vehicle during her son’s birthday celebration.
Hadijah Namyalo, who heads the ONC an office of President Yoweri Museveni had organized a colorful event to mark her son Rayan’s birthday, blending it with a charity outreach to children with disabilities in Kampala.
However, beyond the humanitarian gesture, attention quickly shifted to the unveiling of a zero-mileage Jetour, reportedly valued at around shs 300 million.
The model is among the latest entries on Uganda’s car market, adding to the intrigue surrounding the purchase.
The development has since triggered debate across social media platforms, with some Ugandans questioning whether the acquisition aligns with the known earnings of public officials.
Critics argue that such a high-value purchase raises legitimate questions about affordability within the confines of a government salary.

Others, however, have defended Namyalo, pointing out that individuals in public office may have additional income streams, personal investments, or family wealth that is not publicly disclosed.
By press time, Namyalo had not issued a formal response to the circulating claims.
The incident underscores the increasing public interest in the lifestyles of government officials, particularly when displays of wealth emerge during high-profile events. It also reflects a broader conversation in Uganda about transparency, accountability, and the expectations placed on leaders who occupy influential public offices.
