The Ruparelia Group is putting the final touches on its highly anticipated Paradise Island Resort on Lake Victoria, with the first phase of the lavish getaway now expected to officially open in June.
As works enter the home stretch, one of the most striking new additions taking shape at the exclusive island retreat is an approximately 500-metre man-made beach, which is expected to become one of the resort’s biggest attractions.
Sources familiar with the project say excavation works on the beach have already been completed, leaving only the final stage of transporting and spreading sand along the shoreline as construction crews race to finish the luxury destination ahead of its debut.
Once complete, the beach will offer guests a unique lakeside leisure experience, complete with scenic waterfront views, relaxation spaces, and an added touch of tropical elegance on the private island.
The beach project is the latest sign that the multi-billion hospitality development is nearing readiness after years of construction and planning. Located roughly 20 minutes by speedboat from Speke Resort Munyonyo, Paradise Island Resort has been billed as one of the most ambitious luxury tourism investments on Lake Victoria.
The resort, developed by business magnate Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, sits on a 19-acre private island and has been designed to blend high-end comfort with the island’s natural beauty. It features a range of upscale accommodation, including standard cottages, cliff-hanger cottages, deluxe two-bedroom cottages, and executive villas, all strategically positioned to offer breathtaking lake views and exclusivity.
The final works also come shortly after the unveiling of a custom-built barge meant to support logistics and service delivery at the resort. The vessel is expected to play a key role in transporting materials and supplies to the island, including sand and other finishing requirements needed ahead of the opening.
Sources say the June opening will mark the beginning of phased operations, with guests expected to start experiencing one of the most exclusive and carefully designed resort destinations in the region.
For the Ruparelia Group, Paradise Island is not just another property development—it is a statement project aimed at redefining luxury tourism in Uganda and positioning Lake Victoria as a premium leisure destination.
With construction now in its final stages and the shoreline transformation nearly complete, all eyes are on June as Paradise Island Resort prepares to open its doors for the first time.
