UCU Dean of Students Pamela Tumwebaze dies after Night attack at her Home

RIP: Pamela Tumwebaze

The Uganda Christian University (UCU) community is reeling in shock following the tragic death of its Dean of Students, Pamela Tumwebaze, who succumbed to injuries after a suspected night attack at her home.

According to initial reports, unknown assailants allegedly broke into her residence during the night and attacked her.

Despite efforts to save her life, she passed away in the hospital on Wednesday morning.

Fresh details emerging indicate that the attacker reportedly jumped over the perimeter fence, gained entry into the house, and strangled her before fleeing with her phone and handbag.

However, a MacBook laptop and a significant amount of cash that was visible on a table were left untouched a development that has raised questions about the possible motive behind the killing.

A team of detectives from the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) visited the scene of crime early on Wednesday and are documenting evidence as investigations intensify to establish the motive and identify the suspect.

It has also been established that Tumwebaze had been living separately from her husband, Alexander (Alex) Matsiko, a Kampala-based businessman who resides in Kungu, Wakiso District.

Pamela had been living with her children in Mukono.

Described as the youngest Dean of Students at UCU, Pamela was remembered as a beacon of kindness, compassion, and strength, touching countless lives within the university and beyond.

Her warmth and empathy endeared her to many in the UCU community.

Tributes continue to pour in as the university and the wider community come to terms with the devastating loss.

TrumpetNews has launched an independent investigation into the matter and will provide further updates as events unfold.
