All NRM District chairpersons Endorse Nzaire for Western Uganda CEC seat

All district leaders have rallied behind Mr Nzaire

All National Resistance Movement (NRM) district chairpersons across Uganda have unanimously endorsed Sedrack Nzaire Nowomugisha for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson, Western Region.

The endorsement was sealed at a meeting held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, giving Nzaire a significant boost in his bid for a seat on the NRM’s Central Executive Committee (CEC). The Vice Chairpersons represent regional party interests at the highest organ of the ruling party.

Nzaire, who is known for his Pan-African principles and grassroots mobilization, has been credited for spearheading development initiatives not only in Kiruhura—his home district—but also across the wider Western region. His leadership track record, coupled with strong support from district chairpersons, positions him as a frontrunner in the race.

“We all agreed that he is the right candidate for the job and shall mobilize our people to vote him in during the forthcoming NRM Delegates Conference,” one district chairperson from the Central region told this publication.

Polls conducted within party structures reportedly show Nzaire leading among contenders for the Western slot on the CEC. If successful, this will be his first time serving at the national executive level of the party.

Nzaire previously chaired NRM in Kiruhura District, where his tenure was marked by intensive grassroots mobilization and organizational reforms. His supporters argue that his elevation to CEC will further consolidate the party’s base in Western Uganda.

The election of regional vice chairpersons will take place during the NRM Delegates Conference, where delegates from across the country are expected to cast their votes.
