In a remarkable acknowledgment of his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been bestowed with the distinguished Social and Economic Commitment Award by the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East (ECAM). The prestigious award was officially presented to President Museveni today at State House Entebbe by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja.

The recognition comes on the heels of last week’s ECAM summit in Rome, Italy, during which Rt. Hon. Nabbanja accepted the award on behalf of President Museveni. The summit, a first of its kind, served as a platform focusing on developmental initiatives in Africa, emphasizing the continent as the next frontier for growth.

Rt. Hon. Nabbanja highlighted that President Museveni’s exceptional contribution to humanitarian causes, particularly in the areas of refugee support and healthcare, earned him this distinguished accolade. The European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East recognized the President for his significant efforts in advancing social and economic well-being within Uganda.

Expressing her pride in having President Museveni at the helm of the country, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja remarked, “I can see European countries recognizing the contribution of our President towards the development of our country, and so for me, I would only say we are proud to have President Museveni as our President.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that the award serves as a testament to Uganda’s substantial progress under President Museveni’s leadership. The theme of the two-day summit, “Creating a better present and building a better future together for Africa,” underscores the collective commitment to advancing the continent’s growth and development.

President Museveni’s receipt of the Social and Economic Commitment Award further solidifies his standing as a leader dedicated to fostering positive change and making enduring contributions to the well-being of Uganda and the wider African community.
