Several ministers have reportedly abandoned their official duties and turned to traditional shrines and spiritual leaders, including pastors, in a desperate bid to secure luck and retain their positions amid an impending cabinet reshuffle.
This website has established that the atmosphere within the government has become increasingly tense as rumors of an imminent cabinet reshuffle circulate, prompting ministers to explore unconventional avenues to safeguard their political futures.
Some ministers, fearing potential reassignments or dismissals, have sought solace in traditional rituals and spiritual guidance.
The move stems from President Yoweri Museveni’s revelation during the recent state of nation address he is determined to fight corruption and warned Ugandans to “stay tuned” on how he intends to manage the corrupt.
Last year Museveni while commenting on Ministers who were implicated in theft of iron sheets meant for Karamoja said he “would take a political decision.”
This prompted many to write to him asking for forgiveness.
An official in government who sought to remain anonymous told this website that several ministers have decided to desert offices and turn to shrines or Pentecostal churches in a desperate move to retain positions.
“Many now sleep in overnights sessions, other move with bibles everywhere they go as they read scriptures of faith and blessings,” an official added.
Some who believe in African tradition, have been visiting witchdoctors.
“If you become observant you will see many ministers’ cars headed to Bulenga, Mityana and Busoga on a daily. Those places are the hubs for shrines,” an official added.
Reports indicate that a number of ministers have visited traditional shrines, seeking the intervention of spiritual leaders to enhance their luck and influence decisions in their favor. Additionally, there have been instances where ministers have turned to pastors and religious figures, participating in prayer sessions and seeking divine intervention to ensure they remain in their current roles.
The move to resort to spiritual practices in the face of political uncertainty highlights the high stakes involved in cabinet reshuffles and the intense competition within the government ranks.
While the efficacy of such rituals in influencing political outcomes remains a matter of personal belief, the trend sheds light on the anxiety and pressure experienced by political figures during periods of potential restructuring.
Political analysts are closely observing the situation, noting that this unusual approach underscores the significance of political appointments and the lengths to which individuals may go to secure their positions in the government. The cabinet reshuffle, anticipated for its impact on governance and policy direction, has inadvertently revealed the human side of politics, where individuals navigate uncertainties using a combination of conventional and unconventional strategies.
As the nation awaits official announcements regarding the cabinet reshuffle, the ministerial visits to shrines and pastors are likely to be a topic of public discussion. The outcome of these spiritual endeavors, however, remains uncertain, leaving both ministers and the public in suspense about the future composition of the government and the fate of those in key leadership positions.
