Kampala Parents School (KPS) erupted in joy as the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) released the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results for the academic year 2023 on Thursday afternoon.
The official announcement came from the Minister of Education and First Lady, Janet Kataha Museveni.
In a celebratory atmosphere, parents and pupils gathered at the Naguru-based KPS to collect their results. Daphne Kato, the school’s principal, personally handed over the results to the excited parents and children in attendance.
Kampala Parents School maintained its stellar performance, securing the top position with hundreds of children achieving a first division scoring aggregate four to six.
The headmistress, representing businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, the owner of Kampala Parents School, expressed gratitude, stating, “God is good, and He has always been on our side.” She congratulated the pupils heading to secondary school, urging them to continue working hard, bring recognition to the school, and serve as role models.
UNEB revealed that gender analysis indicated 52.25% of the candidates were girls, surpassing boys who accounted for 47.75% across the country.
Boys outshined girls with 13% of males scoring Division 1, compared to 9% of females.
A detailed analysis of subject performance over a two-year period (2023 and 2022) indicated slight improvements in English, Integrated Science, and Mathematics. However, Social Studies and Religious Education (SST) performance remained comparable to the previous year.
