Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) is spearheading a revolutionary shift in its operations in Uganda, transitioning from traditional regional and international passenger flights to an innovative cargo solution utilizing its Boeing 767-300F.

Lugendo Khalfan, the ATCL Country Representative in Uganda, confirmed the successful unloading of 49 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and vaccines from Mumbai on January 23, 2024, delivered by the B767-300F.

“We have handled this cargo as required to ensure pharmaceutical products are delivered safely and securely. With the modern facilities in this aircraft, Air Tanzania is ready to boost the Ugandan economy through handling large volumes of cargo driven by demand,” stated Khalfan.

In December 2023, the Freighter made history by unloading 40 tonnes of general cargo in Entebbe, Uganda, marking a milestone with increased demand for cargo transportation between Mumbai and Uganda, thanks to its unique modern facilities and capacity.

Khalfan emphasized the significance of Air Tanzania’s cargo operations, stating, “We are thrilled to bring our state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300F to Uganda, offering the best and most competitive rates among all cargo operators in the region. Our aircraft is equipped to transport all types of goods.”

For six years, ATCL has been operating passenger flights to and from Entebbe four times per week, but the introduction of the ATCL Cargo aircraft has become the preferred means of transport, catering to manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers connected globally.

Air Tanzania is actively providing cargo charter services to various destinations, including Nairobi, Bujumbura, Kinshasa, Bangui, Lusaka, Antananarivo, Mumbai, Dubai, Sharjah, Ouagadougou, and more.
