Seven members of the same family died last week on April 25, in Bulambuli District after landslides buried their home in Buluganya Sub County.

Thousands of residents were left homeless, without their property destroyed.

Against that background, Hon. Steven Keddi through his Keddi Foundation has reached out to residents of of Masugu Village, Buluganya Parish, Buluganya Sub County in Bulambuli District in Eastern Uganda with food, mattresses and also pledged $1 million to help locals restart new life.

Keddi Foundation made the donation on Sunday bringing smile to the affected residents. The district authorities say they were overwhelmed with requests for help from the more than 1,000 residents who were affected by the landslides. They have appealed to the central government  for support.

This is not the first time Keddi Foundation is donating to the needy. Last year, the charity organisation rescued Shakur Omiat a six- year- old boy who collected used plastic bottles to feed his family.

Keddi Foundation reached out to the boy at his family in Kinomu I Village in Pallisa Town Council, Eastern Uganda.

The foundation offered Shakur Omiat a full scholarship from Primary until University and thereafter a job at Keddi Foundation.
