The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Wilson Mbadi has approved a request by parliamentarians to face off army generals in honour of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Over the sections several groups celebrated Muhoozi’s birthday, staging a series of activities across the country.
Similarly, the MPs through their captains Linos Ngompek and Lillian Aber wrote to the CDF requesting for permission to play with his soldiers.
Gen Mbadi has since responded positively and the match is slated for this Saturday at Phillip Omondi Stadium
The UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda notified the legislators that Mbadi had approved their request
“Reference is made to your letter to the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) dated 21st April 22 requesting to have a friendly match with UPDF Generals and Members of Parliament Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo as part of activities for celebrating Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birth day.,” Gen Kyanda wrote.
He added, that “I take this opportunity to inform you that the CDF agreed to your request and accordingly the match has been scheduled for 29th April 2022 at 1500hrs at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.”
The UPDF has formed the team and has so far confirmed with the Stadium management on the availability and booked the Stadium for the match.
“On behalf of the UPDF, I wish to thank you for coming up with this novel idea for the UPOF Generals to further interact with Members of Parliament through sports. This is a golden opportunity that we would not wish to miss.”
