President Yoweri Museveni is ready to share with European Union (EU) delegation in Uganda, the security details gathered from the investigation into the deadly November 18 riots which left 54 people dead, over 800 arrested and scores injured.
On Thursday, Museveni met the delegation led by Pacific Attilio at State House Entebbe in meeting attended by Foreign Affairs Ministers, Hon Sam Kutesa and Okello Oryem, Prime Minister Rt Hon Ruhakana Rugunda, among others.
The President’s spokesperson Mr Don Wanyama told this website that the meeting focused on a relations between Uganda and the European Union.
This comes days after the EU parliament in the UK resolved to sanction government officials and threatened harsh relations with Uganda over human rights violations which arose from the election violence.
However, EU head in Uganda would later clarify that a clique of fake news peddlers has put the Union and the government on collision path.
“President Museveni has today met European Envoys in Uganda, led by their head, Attilio Pacifici. He asked that both parties work for shared goals and people’s good, told them to always consult government,” said Mr Wanyama.
He added that the President will share details of the findings into the riots with EU.
The delegation promised to keep supporting development programmes in Uganda.
