Maj Gen Kayanja Muhanga has taken over the operations of all security services in the country, TrumpetNews has learnt.
Muhanga, a battle hardened UPDF combatant was appointed by the Commander in Chief (CIC) Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Earlier reports indicated that Muhanga would oversee security operations within Kampala Metropolitan during and after elections.
However, this website has confirmed that the ruthless two star General will be coordinating operations for all security organizations in the country.
“He is the operations coordinator for all security organizations across the entire country. He is national coordinator, not Kampala alone,” a high ranking military official said preferring to remain unnamed.
Muhanga a brother to renowned journalist Andrew Mwenda and NRM caucus spokesperson Margret Muhanga will sit at Police head offices in Naguru.
He will also coordinate police operations. He reports directly to the appointing authority.
Muhanga will work closely with his comrade as they fought in Somalia Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech. Lokech and Muhanga are known in the security circles as the ‘ruthless’ commanders.
