The FDC presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat has temporarily suspended his campaign to grieve with families of his two supporters who were killed on Tuesday afternoon in Northern Uganda.
The duo perished in a car crash when one of the convoy cars overturned multiple times.
Fifteen other occupants are seriously injured and have been admitted to different facilities in Kapchorwa as FDC finds means of evacuating them to Kampala for proper treatment.
The accident happened a few kilometers after Parombo township as Amuriat advanced to to Panyimur in Nebbi district.
The dead are identified as Helen and Zulaika who were part of POA’s campaign trail.
The officials in FDC confirmed their candidate would not campaign until the mourning is over.
The driver of the car lost control after failing to break. The car veered off the main road and overturned 10 times.
