UMI lecturer Killed in Bobi Wine’s protests

REST IN PEACE; John Kitobe

A lecturer of Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is among victims of violence that erupted Wednesday in Kampala, its neighborhood and urban towns.

The protests erupted after National Unity Platform (NUP) leader and presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, was arrested in Luuka and detained at Nalufenya in Jinja.

It is then that protests erupted with protestors calling for his release.

Scores were injured while at least five were reported dead. John Kitobe, a lecturer at UMI was among them. UMI confirmed Thursday morning in a Facebook post.

“John Kitobe,RIP ,our former colleague ,caught in the unfortunate incidents in Kampala 18th November 2020,” the post reads.

Alumni and current students are continuing to eulogize Kitobe.
