The UPDF has announced that its distinguished officer Col (rtd) Shaban Bantariza will be laid to rest at his native home in Kagorogoro, Ruhinda county in Mitoma District on Thursday.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday night regarding the burial arrangements, UPDF said there will be a limited number of mourners comprising mostly of family members.

“It will be a scientific burial. This is in line with preventive guidelines from government as we deal with COVID-19 pandemic,” reads part of the statement.

Mr Bantariza died Tuesday morning of Coronavirus at Mulago Referral Hospital.

Burial will take place at 11am.

The UPDF press unit will provide footage of the ceremony to all media houses In the country.
