Another former URA Commissioner joins Politics

Protazio seeks to represent Ndorwa East

Dr Protazio Begumisa, the former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance has expressed interest to contest for Ndorwa County (EAST) constituency in the next election.

Protazio, while serving at URA was a close contact of President Museveni, will stand on the Ruling Party Ticket.

The former tax-man will face off with one of the most popular legislators in the Ugandan Parliament Wilfred Nuwagaba, who was among the NRM rebel MPs that were expelled by the party in 2014 for insubordination.

Ndorwa county is located in Kabale District.

Dr. Protazio quit URA early this year after his contract expired. He rejected renewal saying he was interested in politics.

Protazio has already unveiled his campaign poster with vernacular slogan “Muzahuura wa Ndorwa” meaning the savior of Ndorwa.

Earlier today, we reported how Dicksons Kateshumbwa alias Katesh, a former commissioner Domestic Tax also launched his bid for Sheema Municipality MP.
