Museveni taking to the podium to address the meeting

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has rejected doctor’s call to take a rest saying the people of Uganda need him more.

The President’s personal doctor and his family members are concerned with the manner in which Museveni has lately turned himself into a ‘work horse’ traversing the country and traveling abroad.

“In a day the President can conduct over 20 meetings,” a source privy to his meetings told this website.

Against that backdrop, the First Family members including his children are worried this could have an effect on the President’s health.

But the revolutionary leader insisted that he will not lay back and watch when the detractors are busy misleading the people of Uganda.

The President has lately camped in Northern and Eastern regions touring all UPDF divisions and interacting with combatants.

Before, the Museveni spent three days in Kenya where he toured different parts of the country in a bid to strengthen bilateral relations between the two East African nations.

In his tour, Museveni used Kenyan train- SGR for four hours and later gave a lecture to Kenyatta University Student on East African Integration.

On arriving in Uganda, Museveni immediately told his team that he was traveling to Northern Uganda to visit all army facilities.

He returned Wednesday night and on Thursday met with South Sudan President Salva Kiir.

While in the North, the President was meeting a couple of people including foreigners. Museveni held talks with Chinese delegation from the ruling party in Gulu on Wednesday.

Don Wanyama, Museveni’s Press Secretary when asked about the doctor’s advice, said he couoldn’t comment.

“I am not privy to President’s dealings with his medical team,” he said.
