Embattled DFCU bosses are again facing the wrath of COSASE after they continued to conceal crucial information and documents in regards to the Purchase of Assets and Liabilities Agreement of defunct Crane Bank.

On Wednesday, COSASE chair Abdu Katuntu threw out DfCU bosses led by chairman Board of directors Jimmy Mugerwa for presenting fake documents that were neither signed or dated.

Even Thursday’s sitting that started at 2.30pm, Dfcu bosses continued to confuse the committee with unclear documentation, thus raising suspicions that the Bank is concealing important documents in regards to the sale and purchase of Crane Bank in January 2017.

DFCU’s Jimmy Mugerwa said that some of documents are confidential because it contains details of individuals’ accounts which is in breach of their right to privacy.

However, the MPs doubted Mugerwa’s defense on confidentiality saying that even yesterday, he lied to the committee that the documents are confidential yet on critical look at that documents, there were not confidential at all.

“Dfcu has had a mentality of duping this committee about confidentiality of their documents when there are actually not,” MP Francis Mwijukye said.
