Powered by Plascon’s unique mosquito “Knock Down” technology, the new anti- mosquito paint, Kansai Plascon Anti Mosquito Paint has been introduced on the Uganda market in a move to fight Malaria which has been a killer disease in Uganda.

This new paint is an alternative indoor residual spraying replacing the use of insecticides, mosquito nets which have not been well adapted by Ugandans.

The new anti- mosquito paint has been approved by the Ministry of Health, National Environment Management Authority, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Drug Authority and National Research Authority.  It is lead free and is safe to be used in residential homes, commercial and public buildings.

Kansai Plascon Vice President Dr Kalpana Abe says that the idea of paint makes it the ideal way to put people at ease if they are living in high-risk malaria area. She added “When a mosquito comes in contact with the paint, it disrupts the mosquito’s nervous system, reducing its ability to remain on painted walls or flying too far away, resulting in it being knocked down”.

Dr Abe also said that the knock down effect lasts for two years.

The launch of the Kansai (Plascon) Anti-Mosquito paint kicks off with the ‘Hold my Hand to 5’ campaign where Plascon has pledged to donate paint to some of underprivileged communities” added Abe.

He further said,  that the product, with its long lasting benefits will help in saving lives of people in vulnerable communities  across Uganda.
