President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have witnessed the signing of three agreements on infrastructure, economic and humanitarian cooperation, by their ministers.
Before leaving China where Museveni has been on a five-day official visit, he held a bilateral meeting with his host, President Xi Jinping, in Beijing.
This website reported on Tuesday that Museveni would have a one on one talks with Mr. XI before he returns to Uganda.
This has become the third time Museveni is meeting Mr Xi in three years.
The Ugandan leader who has in the recent past been getting close to Beijing as he alienates Washington and has consistently praised China for the credible infrastructure projects the Chinese had funded.
Some of the notable projects that the Chinese had executed in Uganda include Karuma and Isimba dams, Entebbe express highway and the yet-to-start Standard Gauge Railway that will be funded by China’s Exim Bank.
China has also gotten increasingly involved in the development of Uganda’s oil being one of the major players under CNOOC-China National Oil Exploration Corporation.
Museveni, it is said will be among others be discussing how Uganda will benefit from the $6 billion dollars that China has earmarked for projects and aid in Africa.
Uganda’s relations with China have also seen China-Uganda Trade Forums established with one such engagement which happened in July.
