Bedridden Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi is scheduled to leave the country on Thursday night to seek specialised treatment in the U.S.
The pop-politician better known as Bobi Wine has been hospitalized at Lubaga Hospital since the day he was granted bail by Gulu Court early this week.
Bobi Wine’s ordeal began from Arua earlier this month when he camped the Northern District of Uganda to canvass support for a colleague Kassiano Wadri in a by-election.
He was however arrested prior to the election, tortured and detained in a military facility.
He is accused of masterminding an attack on a presidential convoy after violence erupted in which Bobi Wine’s was shot dead and several other of his supporters and fellow MPs incarcerated including his candidate Kassiano Wadri.
Bobi Wine was held incommunicado for over a week before his photos emerged as he looked frail, tortured and needed urgent medical intervention.
Kizza Besigye who has been the powerful opposition leader and a doctor by profession upon visiting Bobi Wine in hospital said security operatives had broken his nasal bone.
