It is a sombre mood for the public relations and media fraternity after one of their own passed on yesterday.
Yona Namawa Wapakhabulo, the son of the former Speaker of Parliament, James Wapakhabulo and Managing Partner of WMC, a public Relations firm, died after a short illness.
Kamwokya based WMC Africa is responsible for PR and media relations for companies like Stanbic Bank, Multichoice and a host of other big corporate organisations.
A consummate corporate communications guru, Yona has over the years built a formidable team at WMC Africa.
Namawa was brother to Lumumba Wambogo Wapakhabulo, Maima Wapakhabulo, and Josephine Kasalamwa Wapakabulo, the Executive Director of Uganda National Oil Company.
According to information from family, Yona will be buried near his father in Mafudu Parish, Bukhulo Sub County, Sironko district.
Namawa married his wife Dorothy Ssozi in 2009. There will be a requiem mass in Kampala before the body is transported to Sironko.
