Beleaguered UPDF Gen will spend his second night behind bars at Makyindye Military barracks, the army says.
The once powerful soldier was arrested on Wednesday in Lake Mburo as he attempted to flee the country.
Reports indicate he was crossing to the neighbouring country in South Western Uganda.
“The General was indeed flown to Kampala from his farm in Kashagama – Lyantonde District and is being questioned on a matter the details of which cannot at this point be divulged,” said UPDF Spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire on Thursday evening.
“He is currently at Makindye Military Barracks and accessible by his immediate family as well as his lawyers,” he added.
Kayihura, according to reports is accused of murdering his junior Andrew Felix Kaweesi in 2017.
“The media will be informed about any other developments regarding the matter,” concluded Karemire.
