Tragedy befell pilgrims at Namugongo when a UPDF soldier went on rampage and shoot at them.

The happy trigger soldier sprayed bullets at the faithful christians for a yet to be established reason.

UPDF spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire confirmed the development but declined to divulge more information about the identity of the shooter saying the incident is being investigated.

However Karemire revealed that the shooter who holds the rank of a Corporal is currently in custody.

According to another source at the scene, it’s alleged that one person died on spot while several others sustained injuries.

But earlier police had denied knowledge of this shooting.
