SP Patrick Onyango will deputise Emilian Kayima as Police Spokesperson, this website reliably reports.
Earlier Tuesday in a reshuffle of 88 police commanders made by the new IGP Okoth Ochola, Onyango had been appointed as the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) publicist, a position that fell vacant after Kayima was elevated to police headquarters.
Luke Oweyesigire has been holding the office temporarily.
Assistant Inspector General of Police M. M. Balimoyo later announced that, “SP Patrick Onyango is appointed deputy spokesperson police headquarters not KMP as earlier reflected in my communication.”
Onyango replaces Polly Namaye.
