Col. Kizza Besigye has appealed to UPDF Generals to openly oppose and overthrow the regime to which they are subject.

Besigye addressing a news conference at his offices at Katonga Road in Kampala said the new campaign dubbed ‘Tubalemese’ is greatly targeting liberation of soldiers and other security agents who have been victimised by their own ‘masters’ through earning pee nuts.

“The soldiers are earning shs 300000 which again a large portion of it is deducted to Wazalendo Sacco of which the savings are embezzled by the superiors,” Besigye said.

The powerful opposition leader said it is very legitimate for the Military to overthrow the type of the regime it’s serving.

He further announced a renewal of nationwide protests to pressure President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s government to improve the collapsing economy and security apparatus.

Besigye blamed the increased criminality on a dysfunctional security system which can’t be renewed saying, “Museveni can’t do nothing on the increased murders other than visiting the victims.”

“That is why we are launching this campaign to “kubalemesa”- constrain the regime’s abilities,” he said.

He scoffed at the NRM apologists who have consistently referred to Besigye’s activism as failure.

He likened defiance campaign to NRA/M guerrilla warfare which couldn’t bear results instantly but ushered them into power in the long run.

“Defiance is like a baby. It doesnt show results overnight. A parent can’t tell that his baby is growing up in a day. But in the actual sense the baby is growing. This is a scientific process,” he responded to critics.

The four time presidential hopeful said the specific actions of disabling the regime will be announced through the appropriate networks to elude the regime’s intelligence.

Besigye was flanked by Patrick Amuriat, the FDC president, Erias Lukwago, the Kampala Lord Mayor and MPs Mubarak Munyagwa, Allan Ssewanyana and Ken Lukyamuzi, the Conservative Party president.
