Brig Sam Kavuma the Deputy Airforce Commander has been promoted to Major General and appointed Deputy Commander Land Forces.
UPDF spokesman Brig Richard Karemire confirmed the
appointment describing Gen Kavuma as an officer with distinguished long time service.
He has served in many command positions including Division Commander,Force Commander African Union Joint Task Force against LRA as well as Contingent Commander of UPDF in Somalia.
Laguna also serves as Chairman of UPDF Wassaco.
He has done his Senior Command and Staff College as well as National Defence College Military Courses in Karen Nairobi.
Kavuma commanded a Division in Northern Uganda,operated against the LRA in Central African Republic and fought decisive battles against the Alshabab in Somalia.
