Jacquiline Aol ,the Nebbi District Woman Member of Parliament, came face-to-face with a section of angry locals in the district on Monday.
Aol was addressing residents during District Independence celebrations held at Nebbi primary school play ground when a group of people shouted at her as she mentioned something about the age limit.
They accused the MP of supporting the lifting of the presidential age limit clause and allow President Museveni rule forever
.When she tried to explain herself, residents shouted “Togikwatako” a phrase being used across the country to bar ruling party lawmakers from “touching” Article 102 of the Constitution.
Aol was forced to openly confess to her voters that she has not yet cleared her support to the lifting of the age limit, adding that she would first consult them on the matter.
James chombe, the Nebbi municipal mayor cautioned the MPs against amending the constitution, adding that if its to be amended locals should be consulted.
