NTV Uganda may have solidified their slim margin as television favourite market leaders beating NBS and Bukedde over the years.
However, this success has come with alot of pressure that is giving top leadership sleepless nights to keep top position and also maintain profitability while delivering audience favourite programming and achieve set targets.
Ntv’s long serving General Manager Agnes Asiimwe Konde who has overseen the television’s growth into a market leader is literally “jumping ship” to join an entrepreneurial NGO called Msingi East Africa.
Aggie will be based in the Rwandan Capital Kigali where she will over see operations of Msingi East Africa’s Rwanda office.
Msingi helps small, medium enterprises start-off with operations in Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania.
Ms. Konde becomes the latest of NTV’s premature departure after a string of senior reporters, business executives ditched the Nation Media Group (NMG) owned television for better placements elsewhere.
Konde who has over 20 years experience in consumer goods, foods and beverages and media joined NTV Uganda at the start of 2013 and was the first Ugandan General Manager.
She previously worked for Monitor Publications, Crown Beverages, British American Tobacco and most recently Africa Broadcasting (NMG owned NTV)
Armed with an MBA from a London University and an illustrious high achiever in the corporate world, Aggie is also a board member of various local and international organisations including the Uganda Manufacturers Association.
Msingi East Africa’s Chairman Ali Mufuruki said the board was confident Aggie would provide strong leadership to the organisation with the vision of “building East Africa’s industries of the future”.
TrumpetNews will be on the lookout for Nation Media Group’s next choice of general manager to take over from departing Aggie Konde who starts her new role in October.
