An un-identified driver has knocked and killed a newspaper vendor on Kampala road after he lost control of his motor vehicle, a Toyota Van registration number UAQ 088Z.
The driver is believed to have erratically swerved to the wrong direction after a by-stander thug snatched his phone from the driver’s side window.
The unfortunate accident occurred at the Kampala/Entebbe road traffic lights junction.
According to eye witnesses at the scene, the panicky gentleman mistakenly accelerated his vehicle as he panicked in the process of chasing the phone thief who disappeared onto the other side of the road.
Police arrived at the scene shortly before towing the car and whisking off the driver as the badly injured newspaper vendor was taken to hospital.
