Joseph Okwi number 57625 attached to Lugazi Police Station was knocked dead by a speeding car on Wednesday morning while on duty.
According to a fellow police officer Patrick Onyango, Okwi was heading to his beat at Namagunga area when a driver of motor vehicle registration number UAM 527W Toyota Spacio rammed into the deceased’s motor cycle number UP 2093.
Okwi was rushed to Kawolo hospital but died on arrival.
The driver of Spacio is in custody at CPS Lugazi and the vehicle has also been impounded.
