Bodies of twelve UPDF soldiers who were killed by Al-Shabaab terrorists in Somalia have on Wednesday been brought back home for a decent burial.
The gallant officers were assassinated last Sunday after the extremist group laid an ambush which also saw 7 soldiers terribly injured.
The fundamentalist outfit linked to Al-Qaida terrorists has since claimed to have eliminated 39 AMISOM troops.
The incident took place at Gorowen town between Bulumaler and Beladamini in Lower Shabelle region, about 140kms South West of Mogadishu.
The plane carrying caskets with bodies of the deceased arrived at Entebbe Airbase at 2pm.
The bodies were received by relatives of the dead soldiers and a delegation from UPDF headed by Lt. General Wilson Mbadi, the deputy Chief of Defence Forces.
UPDF’s flag was flown at half-mast in respect for the deceased.
