Deborah Wakikona wife to former minister of state for trade and former MP for Manjiya county David Wakikona passed on yesterday evening at Entebbe Grade B hospital.
According to a relative, Deborah has been battling a mixture of cancer and diabetes for a long time before she was admitted in hospital where she breathed her last.
“She has been in and out of hospital and has been on medication for a long period of time,” a relative told this website.
The family is waiting for doctor’s report which will be more accurate.
Because of her wife’s health complications Wakikona didn’t contest for elections but chose to stay at home and take care of her.
“Aunt has been sick for a while, .that is why uncle did not contest for last elections as MP. He wanted to stay home and nurse her and he did,” a relative added
Burial arrangements are underway and she will be laid to rest at their upcountry home in Bunyunghaa, Manjiv in Bududa district.
The deceased is survived by 8 children.
Vigil is at Wakikona’s home in Kitoro, Entebbe
