Self styled ghetto president Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine asked President Yoweri Museveni to be kind enough and relinquish power to his long time competitor Col Kizza Besigye. Bobi Wine, a known top singer cum politician passed the message through his music while entertaining revellers at city hangout Diners Lounge in Bukoto.

Bobi Wine and comedian Patrick Idringi share light moment with FDC heavyweight Besigye

It is no longer a public secret that Bobi Wine is Besigye’s radical who preaches defiance through his songs. The “ghetto president” announced his bid for Kyadondo MP in an upcoming by election.

Since then he has been close to the powerful opposition leader attending some of his political activities. Bobi Wine, while singing his popular hit “bada” he lyrically begged Museveni to handle over power to Besigye. “Singa nze Museveni nalindekedde Besigye entebbe,” literally meaning if I were Museveni I would handle over presidency to Besigye.

The statement aroused wild cheers from the fans. Besigye has contested four times against his opponent. While he accuses Museveni of illegitimacy, Besigye has come under fire for failing to pave way for another opposition leader to take on the regime.

Lately he has kicked off countrywide workshops where he interfaces with the FDC supporters as he repositions himself for the next election.

However, Besigye has downplayed his notion saying the regime is spreading propaganda to divert the masses from what happened in 2016 elections. He appeals to the citizenry to defy the regime.
