A new Television STV, has hit the airwaves with a niche of promoting youths and giving the entertainment industry a complete new look.

With the state of art technology, professional and experienced employees, STV could give competitors and bloody nose.

The TV is owned by businessman Sulaiman Mbuga alias SK Mbuga.

Mbuga has already employed renowned music producer Washington who will be in charge of the sound production while Steve Jean has been contracted to work on the visual production.

Kicking off its monthly activations, STV hosted a celebrated Gambian music star David Jay who performed at a listeners’ party Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala on Saturday.

Mbuga said the STV listeners’ Parties will happen monthly.

He draws the inspiration of venturing into TV to help promote the youth of Uganda whom he feels are left behind yet the world moving fast especially in technology.

STV Uganda which will be an entertainment and educative station with 70% broadcast in English will officially launch in April this year. And station will hold monthly activations in which fans will get a chance to meet, mix and mingle with various African superstars.

SK Mbuga, the station’s proprietor said the station is mostly targeting the young generation. The station- already accessible on Gotv, will as well be connected on DStv, StarTimes, Azam to give viewers more choices. The set up is in final stages.

On employment, the tycoon said the station will groom and employee its own staff unlike most TV stations which poach from other stations. “We want to groom our own, we aren’t employing those already experienced. This will give a chance to everyone to come in and try out something new,” SK Mbuga said.
