Three Immigration officers operating from Entebbe Airport have Thursday been by arrested State House Anti-Corruption Unit jointly working with Uganda Police.
The arrest followed a whistleblower’s complaint that the trio abused their office by frustrating a refugee at the airport.
The three officers are; Caroline Kabugo a shift Supervisor, Martha Mboneko and Julius Musalwa both immigration officers.
“The three allegedly abused their office when they caused a refugee to miss her flight purporting that she had forged clearance documents from the Office of the Prime Minister to the contrary. The traveler has since incurred extra costs in excess of $1800 Investigations are being carried out,” State House Anti-Corruption Unit tweeted.
The unit is headed by Brig Henry Isoke who took over from Col Edith Nakalema last month.
