Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere has been rearrested hours after Jinja High Court granted him bail amid restrictions.

He has been taken to Nalufenya detention center and fresh charges slapped against him including Murder of AIP Apire Simon Peter under CRB 1067/2016, and terrorism under CRB 1425/2016.

Court released him at around 3pm on a Shs 100million non cash bond by Jinja Court Judge Eva Luswata, who downplayed assertions by the Prosecution that Mumbere was a high risk if let go.

Upon release, the King refused to leave court premises saying that he feared for his life.

The King’s subjects including most of the MPs from the Kingdom camped at the court premises,  surrounding their king.

Meanwhile after almost 2 hours, Mumbere agreed to be chauffeured out of court premises.

However, as soon as the vehicle moved out, the area Deputy RPC Onesmus Mwesigwa ordered him out of the vehicle before putting him in the waiting police van.
