Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has emerged as a new force in Uganda’s political arena leading a revolution dubbed ‘People Power’.
For three consecutive by-elections all the candidates the dancehall artiste rallies behind win the election with a huge margin.
He began with Rukungiri Woman by-election where he supported FDC candidate Betty Muzanira and she trounced her rival Winifred Matsiko.
Bobi Wine would later switch sides and in Bugiri Municipality polls, the ghetto president as he refers to himself announced he would canvass support for Asuman Basalirwa, the JEEMA president.
Bobi Wine’s decision could have rubbed Kizza Besigye the FDC strongman and at the end Basalirwa carried victory.
The latest candidate to win the election is Mr Kassiano Wadri who was declared by Electoral Commission on Wednesday night as duly elected MP for Arua Municipality.
Wadri who is behind bars got 6421 votes, while his closest contender- NRM candidate Nusura Tiperu garnered 4798.
The FDC candidate Bruce Musema managed 1369 votes.
