Over 1000 external candidates have been shortlisted for 68 recently advertised jobs at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), the country’s national broadcaster.
ICT and National Guidance minister Frank Tumwebaze in September last year appointed UBC revamp team to streamline human resource and TV programming at the country’s national broadcaster. Since then UBC has undergone a massive restructuring process that saw the national broadcaster advert top positions on May 7, 2018 and the process to recruit new staff is currently ongoing.
According to the list that TrumpetNews has seen, UBC management has successfully scrutinized the applications and shortlisted 1150 candidates who will sit for interviews for their respective positions on a date that has not yet been announced.
In June, UBC shortlisted another 228 internal candidates for the same jobs. It should be remembered that UBC staff was recently ordered to reapply for their positions and the shortlisted staff will lock horns with the external candidates for the 68 positions.
