Kampala Archbishop His Grace Cyprian Kizito Lwanga survived sacking in 2015 after the UPDF elite unit Special Forces Command (SFC) cordoned off the residence of Nuncio Michael August Blume’s residence in Mbuya, a suburb of Kampala.
Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Blume is the special representative of Holly Father Pope Francis in Uganda.
On Tuesday this website exclusively reported why His Grace Lwanga fell out with his blue eyed boy Father Jacinto Kibuuka.
This website revealed how Kibuuka in 2015 led a convoy of SFC combatants who raided Nuncio’s house to ascertain whether the Pope would be safe during his stay in the country in November 2015.
The Pope stayed at Nuncio’s home at the time he was in the country.
Against this backdrop, TrumpetNews has gathered more details on what exactly happened when the soldiers invaded Archbishop Blume’s home.
Unlike what we reported earlier that the Nuncio was at home at the time of the raid, an official in Kampala Archdiocese who offered to give us facts and more details but wished not to be mentioned said that, the Pope’s envoy had been away in the city centre attending a function at 11pm in the night.
“SFC arrived at 11pm but Nuncio was not at home. His security offered to him from Vatican called to alert him that gun men had stormed his residence. He cancelled an official function and returned home in Mbuya,” this official stated.
He was dismayed to find gun men surrounding his residence.
Visibly very angry, the Nuncio didn’t attempt to call Archibishop Lwanga, but wrote a damning dossier to Vatican reporting breach of his diplomatic immunity, copied to Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Catholic Secretariat in Nsambya.
Vatican responded to Nuncio’s letter demanding explanation from government why security would breach Blume’s immunity.
To make matter worse, Pope Francis threatened to cancel his visit should government fail to give clear reasons why his representative should be humiliated in that manner.
The Vatican further wrote to Archbishop Lwanga expressing discontent why he would authorise his henchman Fr Kibuuka to take security to the Nuncio at such time of the night.
Vatican announced to Lwanga that he was bound to lose his job if he was found liable.
To save his job Lwanga moved fast to sack Kibuuka if even the two had a close relationship.
