Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Paul Mwiru is leading Jinja East MP by-election, provisional results indicate.

With over ten polling stations that have already tallied votes, Mwiru has garnered 3030 votes while his rival Nabeta Igeme, an NRM candidate is the second with 1870.

Earlier in the day violence, arrests and allegations of vote stuffing were reported in many polling stations across the constituency.
