The police disciplinary court has released maverick police officer Muhammad Kirumir on bail.

He has been battling numerous cases of torture, corruption and unnecessary exercise of authority.

The errant Buyende DPC, would later expose ‘sordid’ deeds in the police establishment, orchestrated by high ranking officials within the Force.

He thus, resigned live on television before operatives from Flying Squad, a notorious unit of police stormed his home and ripped it apart in a bid to arrest him.

Kirumira was then incarcerated in a dreaded facility, Nalufenya, in Eastern Uganda.

Police administration maintained he knows proper channels within which he can tender in his resignation not via social media.

On Thursday, Kirumira who is at the rank of Assistant Superintendent of olice presented Assistant Commissioner of Police Sam Omara to stand as his surety.

He was granted bail with stringent terms.

He will be reporting to Professional Standards Unit (PSU) every day, and was cautioned to desist from on social media about police issues.
