NRM’s Kyamadidi in talks with FDC

Disenchanted erstwhile Rwampara lawmaker Vincent Kyamadidi has held closed door talks with Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leader Patrick Oboi Amuriat.

The two would later pose for a photo after having what some FDC officials termed as ‘fruitful discourse.’

The Amuriat Administration however, remained tight-lipped by the time of filing this report.

Only a few FDC members attached to the radical wing loyal to Amuriat and his ‘God father’ Col Kizza Besigye took to their social media pages to congratulate Kyamadidi for having ‘seen the light’ and crossed to FDC.

Doreen Nyanjura a youth councillor and a fanatic of the powerful opposition party posted, “welcome to FDC Hon Kyamadidi Vincent.”

Harold Kaija who wields an influential position as  deputy Secretary General announced how his president had earlier Monday held talks with U.S envoy Deborah Malac before meeting Kyamadidi at the party head offices in Najjanankumbi.

It remains unclear whether the meeting was political, cordial visit or business related.

Kyamadidi miserably lost an election to his archrival Charles Ngabirano in a heated race.

He was defeated in 2015 as NRM flagbearer but took on his opponent as an independent candidate but also lost in 2016.

He contested Ngabirano’s victory in Court but Justice Winfred Nabisinde ruled in his opponent’s favour sparking off fierce clashes between two hostile camps outside court room.

Kyamadidi who once dominated headlines as an outspoken NRM ‘rebel’ MP has since been forgotten.

Some observers say Kyamadidi could be cultivating a political move to pull the attention of the President.
