Opposition leader Col Kizza Besigye has Tuesday afternoon been removed from Naggalama police station in Mukono District and taken to a yet to be known place amid tight security.
This Website couldn’t ascertain where Besigye, FDC Secretary for Mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe, and party Presidential Candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat had been taken but FDC officials who had camped at the station saw a van driving out.
It’s recalled that government considers charging the trio with murder of a youngster who was killed last week as Besigye and his ilk attempted to stage a rally in Rukungiri district stadium.
Whereas opposition stalwarts insist that Police shot a one Nasasira, authorities in the force maintained he was stoned by a rowdy crowd.
Several other protesters were admitted with terrible injuries in Nyakibale Hospital.
Another victim who has been nursing wounds was pronounced dead on Monday evening.
The ugly incidents would later arouse the sacking of Rukungiri DPC by the Inspector of Police Gen Kale Kayihura who was also injured in the fracas.
Police publicist AIGP Asan Kasingye couldn’t comment on Besigye’s whereabouts by press time as he wouldn’t answer our repeated calls.
