High Court judge Justice Wilson Kwesiga has granted murder suspect Mathew Kanyamunyu has granted a shs 10 million cash bail.
Ealier Justice Kwesiga assured Kanyamunyu and the state prosecution that he will use his discretion while delivering his ruling on the suspect’s bail application.
Kanyamunyu, through his lawyer Evans Ochieng filed his fourth application seeking court to release him on bail pending the hearing of his case, which has not been fixed ever since he was committed to High Court for trial.
Unlike the previous applications where Kanyamunyu’s lawyer made lengthy submissions, today the judge advised him to put emphasis on a few areas which were not clearly explained in the previous applications.
Kanyamunyu today presented proof that he has a fixed place of abode by providing a tenancy agreement of his home located at Royal Palms Estate in Luzira and an introduction letter from his land lord and LC chairperson.
He also presented five sureties, namely; Emmy Karuhanga his cousin, his uncle Julius Kanyamunyu, his Aunt Sebunya Amerian, another Aunt Stella Karuhanga and his guardian Gabi Gasatula.
