Bobi Wine released on police bond after rigorous interrogation

Bobi Wine arrives at Entebbe police

Music star cum opposition politician Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been released on police bond after hours of quizzing.

Bobi Wine represents Kyadondo East constituency as an Independent MP.

He arrested at Entebbe airport briefly after his return from USA.

Entebbe police questioned him over an audio tape that went viral in which he recorded attacking President Museveni and NRM Members of Parliament for passing a motion to table a Private Members Bill to amend Article 102 (b) of the constitution to allow the President to lead Uganda beyond 75 years of age.

The venomous audio was also transcribed and posted on the legislator’s different social media pages, attracting a lot of media and public attention.

The questioning came after Bobi Wine was Friday held at the police station, blocking him from leading a procession from Entebbe Airport to his home in Gayaza. A lot of his fans witnessed the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) commander Frank Mwesigwa said that as a procedure Bobi Wine was wanted for inciting violence.

His colleagues who threatened to shed blood should parliament pass the controversial age limit bill were also summoned at police.
