Kyadondo East legislator Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said that he will at all times accord respect to the President of Uganda.
Bobi Wine last week met and shook hands with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the funeral of former Democratic Party leader Late Ssebaana Kiziito.
However critics have since taken to several platforms to pour their scorn on the self styled ‘ghetto president’ for betraying his supporters.
Bobi Wine, while speaking out on his swearing in arrangements slated for today at Parliament of Uganda, told TrumpetNews that he has great respect for his elders including the President.
“I am a leader yes, but I have respect for my superiors. I have much respect for President Museveni and I will always shake his hands every time we meet,” Bobi Wine said.
In his campaigns he has been unequivocal that he has no political party he supports but rather his campaign is about uplifting the standards of the marginalised Ugandans.
He scoffed at those who think he will be compromised by the ruling party.
“I believe in unity and working together for the poor people. Therefore shaking President Museveni’s hand is a sign of togetherness,” he said while at his One Love Beach in Busabala, Kampala.
Majority of the opposition leaders are intolerant and display resentment towards their rivals- NRM.
But the coming of Bobi Wine, a musician into the political arena could have a great impact as he is perceived by his fans as neutral.
Bobi Wine will be sworn in at 2pm and after proceed to Kasangati grounds for celebrations.
