The events, branded “Remembering RR,” will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, bringing together family, friends, and well-wishers to reflect on a life that touched many across Uganda and beyond.

The day will begin with a Prosthetic Leg Donation Drive at 10:30 AM at Mulago Hospital, under the Department of Orthopaedics. The initiative is expected to restore mobility and dignity to beneficiaries, reflecting Rajiv’s commitment to improving lives through practical and meaningful interventions.

In the afternoon, participants will take part in a Memorial Drive scheduled for 2:30 PM, with the meeting point at RR Pearl Tower. The symbolic procession is anticipated to draw motorists and supporters in a moving tribute celebrating Rajiv’s passion and vibrant spirit.

The day will conclude with a Candle Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 PM at Speke Resort Munyonyo Marina. The ceremony will offer a quiet moment of reflection, remembrance, and unity, as attendees honor a legacy defined by generosity and purpose.

Organizers say the memorial events are not only about remembrance but also about continuing Rajiv’s mission of uplifting communities. The theme of the day “Restoring Hope, Honouring a Legacy, Changing Lives” underscores a commitment to turning grief into action.

The initiative is expected to attract a wide cross-section of society, from business leaders to ordinary citizens, all united in celebrating a life that left a lasting mark on Uganda’s social and economic landscape.
