The media fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of journalist Daniel Tatya, who has been working with The Investigator TV and The Investigator website.

Tatya breathed his last on Tuesday at 1:00pm at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he had been admitted with recurring health complications.

According to close colleagues, Tatya had previously survived a road accident some time back and appeared to recover, but continued to experience minor health setbacks.

Doctors at Mulago suspect that he may have succumbed to a blood clot.

Confirming the tragic news, Investigator proprietor Stanley Ndawula described Tatya as a dedicated and passionate journalist whose contribution to the platform will be greatly missed.

He added that vigil will be held on Wednesday evening at Yaya Restaurant in Kampala as family and friends prepare for the burial arrangements.

Tatya’s passing is yet another painful loss to Uganda’s journalism fraternity, which has in recent years witnessed the departure of several young and promising reporters.
